In summer 2025 I'd never built anything with AI.

Thirty days later, the first thing I built won a hackathon.

  1. Summer 2025: LowBall. 1st place and $1,000, in a hackathon inside Nate Herk's AI community. My first build. I had never written a line of code, and 30 days later it won first place.
  2. Sep 2025: Closety. #2 most trending of 10,000+ entries in the first Figma Makeathon. A concept for your closet: photograph what you own, get AI outfit ideas, see your friends' daily fits, and see what you actually wear. Built with Itai Lavi.
  3. Dec 2025: Rokan Labs. Four steps, end to end, with no human in between. One sentence in a chat box comes out the other end as a published, captioned YouTube video.
  4. Spring 2026: Vibe Coding Club. 250 members in the first three months. I come from a completely non-technical background. I understand just how hard and overwhelming it can all feel.
  5. Summer 2026: EY Deploy Challenge. 1st place in EY's internal AI-agent challenge, with finalists from offices across the US. Projected 520 hours a year saved for my engagement team. Built for EY, so it stays with EY.
  6. Aug 2026: K[ai]ros. Luke and I kept seeing the same gap: AI is far ahead of where smaller businesses actually use it. Luke does the engineering, I do the business side. First build: a contract analyzer for a construction company.

Spring quarter 2026 · President

250 members. We meet every week.

Cal Poly does a great job, but AI moves faster than a curriculum can. By the time a course gets built, it's already out of date. We saw the gap between where students were with AI and where they needed to be, so we started meeting every week.

Some weeks, people from industry walk us through what's actually happening in AI. A lot of weeks, we just build.

What members built

Members have built an outreach system, a better Adobe Illustrator, CFO agents, an app that relists thrift finds on eBay, calorie trackers, and habit trackers.

It brought new customers into a member's parents' business.

My favorite part is after. People hang back, talk, and get excited about what they're going to build.

Cal Poly club beach volleyball. Surfing. The gym. Beach days with a big group of friends. That's the biggest thing. Thrifting and Depop. I'd rather buy secondhand. A $150 Coach leather jacket. I can't really justify it, but it's kind of cool. Cooking. Not great yet. Salmon and roast veggies so far.
